Kirti Kulhari's 'Full Plate' Opens Indian Film Festival of Sydney

New Delhi, Oct 9 (PTI) Actor Kirti Kulhari expressed her immense pride and excitement as her latest film, "Full Plate," directed by Tannishtha Chatterjee, opened the Indian Film Festival of Sydney.

The screening in Sydney follows the film's world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival last month, where it garnered significant praise from critics.

"Full Plate" is described as a touching and personal exploration of food, faith, and everyday resilience. Kirti Kulhari stars as a homemaker who becomes a cook, challenging patriarchy and stereotypes with her culinary skills. The film also features Sharib Hashmi, Indraneil Sengupta, and Monica Dogra in key roles.

"I can't fully express how thrilled I am that our passion project is being showcased at the Indian Film Festival of Sydney. I'm excited to see the reactions of the Indian audience at this festival. It's an honor to see our film growing and reaching more people," Kulhari said in a statement.

She shared her anticipation for attending the film's screening in Sydney, marking her first visit to Australia.

"We had an amazing beginning with the world premiere at Busan, and now with Sydney, my schedule feels jam-packed! I'm eager for the new experiences Australia will bring," she added.

At the festival, the "Four More Shots Please!" actress will also participate in a ‘Women in Film’ panel discussion, highlighting female voices in cinema.

Looking ahead, Kulhari will appear in the fourth season of "Four More Shots Please!" and is currently working on another untitled film.

"Full Plate" is produced by Ashutosh Goswami and Anup Chitnis of Ashutosh Entertainments, and Mohaan Nadaar and Ketki Pandit of Teamo HQ Productions Ltd.
